What happens if I send several generic-template messages back to back?

Are the images in a generic-template card safe to keep using long-term?
Yes — images attached to generic-template cards are stored with permanent public URLs rather than the expiring signed links some other attachments use, so a card keeps working long after you save it.
Does sending a saved reply count against any limit?
Yes — like all Instagram messaging in Admino, actually sending a saved reply counts toward your plan's monthly message limit; that's counted only when the message is sent, not when you build and save it.
