AI Replies to Instagram Comments: Credit Cap and Safety Guide
A good reel that takes off is like a crowded shop: everyone wants to know everything, all in the same hour. Hundreds of comments arrive under the post and most ask one thing. What is the price, do you ship, is it in stock. If you are alone, answering each by hand means doing nothing else. If you set one fixed auto-reply, everyone gets the same sentence and the post looks like a robot has taken it over.
Smart replies under comments are the third way: instead of one fixed sentence, AI writes a short answer suited to each comment and posts it under that comment. But every smart reply spends AI credits, and under a busy post that number can add up within hours. That is why Admino does not offer this without a cap. This guide explains how it works, how the cap protects you and when it is worth it.
Smart comment replies beside smart direct with AI
Smart replies under comments are the part of smart direct with AI that has reached comments. Keyword rules and AI replies in DMs work as they do, and this option only makes the public reply under a post smart. All of it is open in the free trial too.
What exactly are smart replies under comments?
It is an option in Pasokhino and works only on rules that reply publicly under comments. Such a rule normally leaves one fixed line under the comment, for example "message us in DM for the price", and sends a DM at the same moment. With smart replies on, the fixed line becomes the fallback and, in the normal case, a short, specific answer is written for each comment instead.
A smart reply answers from the same information about your shop that you gave the "AI replies" section: products, prices, shipping terms, opening hours. If the answer is not in that information it makes nothing up.
Why should I watch my credits?
Every written reply spends a few AI credits, and these are the same monthly credits that replies to customer messages and Hooshino draw on. If a thousand people comment under a popular reel and a smart reply is written for all of them, your whole month of credits could be gone in a few hours. And when credits run out, smart replies to customer messages stop too.
Admino always holds some credits back for customer messages, but you should not rely on that alone. So it has one simple rule: it cannot be switched on without a cap.
The credit cap on each rule
When you switch smart replies on, you set a cap for that rule. The cap applies to that rule itself, not to your whole account, so a rule you built for one busy post cannot eat the credits you need for everything else.
- Before each reply is written, its credits are taken from the cap. So even if a thousand people comment at once, the rule never spends more than its cap.
- When the cap is reached, smart replies for that rule stop and the fixed line you wrote is sent instead. Nothing breaks and no comment goes unanswered.
- If the AI has nothing to say for a comment, or the reply cannot be sent, nothing is charged and the fixed line goes.
- You see what has been used on the rule's card and on its edit page, and you can raise the cap whenever you want it to continue.
What do smart replies never write?
A reply under a post is seen by everyone, so it is stricter than a DM reply:
- It never contains a link, a phone number or an @username. If an answer would need one, it says the details are in DM.
- It is short, one or two sentences.
- It answers only from what you told Admino about your shop. If it does not know, the fixed line goes.
- Before sending, the text is checked: if it is empty or contains any of the above, the smart reply is not sent.
AI can be wrong. You can see every reply it wrote in the "AI replies" section and teach it from the mistakes.
When is it worth it, and when not?
Smart replies are built for special moments, not every post:
- A special sale or promotion that you know will draw many comments with varied questions.
- A reel you know will get different questions about a product: size, colour, availability.
- A short event or campaign after which you switch it off.
For a page that gets a few dozen ordinary comments a day, most asking the same thing, the fixed line is usually enough and free. After the occasion ends, switch smart replies off.
How do I switch it on?
- In Pasokhino, create a rule or edit one, and enable comments for it.
- In the reply step choose "reply under the comment" and write at least one fixed line; this is the fallback.
- Switch on "smart reply under comment", read the warning and set the credit cap. Start with a small number.
- Save and switch the rule on. After a few hours check the usage on the rule card and change the cap if needed.
The Admino assistant can also build the comment rule; for one specific post, say "for my last post". Then you switch smart replies on in that same rule.
Public reply and DM together
Smart replies write only under comments. If your rule also sends a DM, that stays as you set it. The best combination is usually this: a short smart reply under the comment that says the details are in DM, and the full message with price and link in the DM. That keeps the public reply free of links and numbers while sensitive details go to the private conversation.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about this guide
How many credits do smart replies under comments use?
Each written reply uses a few AI credits from your monthly allowance. The exact amount is shown on the rule's setup page and in its warning. Because every rule has a cap, usage never goes above what you set.
What happens when the credit cap is reached?
Smart replies for that rule stop and the fixed line you wrote is sent. Nothing breaks and no comment goes unanswered. Raising the cap lets it continue.
Do smart replies write links and phone numbers?
No. A reply under a comment never contains a link, a phone number or an @username. If an answer would need one, it says the details are in DM.
What if the AI does not know the answer?
It makes nothing up. The fixed line is sent and no credits are charged for it.
Should I switch it on for all my posts?
It is not recommended. Use it for special moments such as a sale or a busy post and switch it off afterwards. For pages with ordinary comment volume the fixed line is enough and free.
